METALUBE® wins a Queen's Award for Enterprise in Innovation 2014
METALUBE® is proud to announce that it has been awarded a highly prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise in Innovation 2014.
This is the second successive year METALUBE® has been honoured with a Queen's Award for Enterprise, the company winning in the International Trade category in 2013.
The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious accolades for businesses and individuals in the United Kingdom. The winners are announced each year on 21st April, Her Majesty The Queen's birthday. The process is highly competitive and METALUBE® has triumphed against stiff competition from a wide spectrum of businesses around the UK.
An Innovation Award was given to METALUBE® for inventing a synthetic grease, OCG 6000, for the protection of overhead electrical cables. The corrosion-protecting grease will operate effectively at temperatures over 200°C, with an operational life exceeding 20 years. OCG 6000 extends the life of the overhead conductors, delivering significant maintenance cost savings to operators by delaying the need for the renewal of pylon infrastructure.
