Metalube Gives Much Needed Funds to Local Charity

Metalube donates food to local charity

Irlam based lubricant manufacturer Bishopdale Group (Metalube, Molyslip, and UOP) particularly wanted to give back to its local community this year and has donated £1000 to local charity – The Irlam and Cadishead Foodbank.

Chris Cowan, Logistics Executive at the Irlam plant is an active member of the charity through his church and says: “My church has an amazing outreach wing, it’s not so much about religion but about going on the streets and trying to help the homeless and people within the community who are struggling.  Last Wednesday, for example, we delivered food hampers and presents to some of the most impoverished in our community.”

The Irlam and Cadishead Foodbank was launched in September 2016, and now has over fifty local volunteers.  The foodbank receives donations on Monday afternoons and distributes food parcels each Tuesday morning.

Robert Brown, Managing Director says: “We know that this area has been particularly badly impacted by COVID-19, so it was important for us to give a little back to our neighbours this year.  Many of our employees live locally and it is heart-warming to see such active projects helping our struggling communities.”
