Pennar Industries Ltd Achieves Performance Objectives with Cool-Tek™
OVERVIEW
Pennar Industries Limited is one of the leading engineering organisations in India. Their tubes division, based in Hyderabad, rollforms ERW tube for use in precision tube applications. Pennar was using a leading competitor’s coolant but experiencing corrosion within two days of forming and undesired dirtiness and oil carry-over into their annealing process, resulting in black spotting.
Metalube® recommended Cool-Tek™ 250 as a cleaner alternative with higher levels of corrosion protection.
The carefully selected additives in the Cool-Tek™ range provide effective lubrication, excellent fines handling, superior cleanliness (resulting in extended roll/tool life), excellent surface finish, and corrosion protection.
OUTCOME
Cool-Tek™ 250 was initially placed in one mill rolling tube from hot rolled, low carbon steel.
Pleased with the results after six months, Pennar subsequently implemented Cool-Tek™ 250 in more of their mills producing large diameter tubes.
